Sclerotherapy of telangiectasias - vascular "spider veins"
During the procedure, the dilated vessels are punctured with a very thin needle. This is used to inject a special chemical - sclerosant. This causes a slight inflammation, which leads to the closure of the vessel. Sclerotherapy of telangiectasias allows even the smallest lesions to be removed. This procedure is carried out using a vascular magnifying glass. This makes it possible to achieve the desired precision. The duration of 1 sclerotherapy session is approximately 30 minutes. The procedure usually does not require anaesthesia. Patients who are very sensitive to pain can take a generally available painkiller at home e.g. paracetamol, ibuprom one hour before the procedure. After the procedure, class II compression stockings are worn.
Benefits:
- The procedure is short, safe and almost painless.
- It does not require a long recovery period.
- A lasting aesthetic effect is expected.
- It can be used in most patients.
- Reduces the rate of progression of venous insufficiency.
