Doppler ultrasound of the veins of the upper limbs

Ultrasound examination of the superficial and deep veins of the upper limb - assessing blood flow in the veins using colour Doppler - colour imaging and spectral Doppler - flow in the form of a curve showing the speed of the flow and its nature, allows their efficiency to be determined, the wall of the vein is visualised - the elasticity and thickness of the wall is assessed - fibrosis and its thickening may occur e.g. after thrombosis, during the examination compression tests are performed - this allows venous thrombosis to be confirmed/excluded.

Doppler ultrasound of the veins of the lower limbs

Ultrasound examination of the superficial and deep veins of the lower limb - allows assessment of the blood flow in the veins using the colour Doppler method - presentation of the flow in colour and spectral Doppler - recording of the flow in the form of a curve - showing the speed of the flow and its spectrum, venous capacity is assessed - qualification for surgical treatment (examination in the standing position), morphology of the venous wall, elasticity and thickness of the wall - fibrosis and thickening of the wall may be a consequence of a thrombophilic state, performing compression tests - necessary to confirm/exclude thrombosis, it is possible to assess the duration of thrombosis and monitor the progress of anticoagulant treatment

Doppler ultrasound of the carotid and vertebral arteries

Ultrasound examination of the arteries supplying blood to the brain (common carotid artery, internal carotid artery, external carotid artery) - assessment of the blood flow in the arteries using colour Doppler - colour imaging and spectral Doppler - recording of the flow in the form of a curve defining the speed of the flow and its structure - allows their patency to be assessed, anatomy - by depicting the structure of the vessel wall, narrowing of the lumen may indicate atherosclerosis or inflammatory processes; in patients who have undergone surgery on the carotid arteries because of their narrowing due to atherosclerosis, the effect of the surgery is assessed and treatment is monitored; on the basis of this examination, the patient is qualified for surgical treatment

Doppler ultrasound of the arteries of the upper limbs

Ultrasound examination of the arteries of the upper limb (axillary artery, brachial artery, radial artery, ulnar artery)-the flow of blood in the arteries is assessed using colour Doppler-colour imaging and spectral Doppler-the recording of the flow in the form of a curve indicating the velocity and its nature, allows patency to be ascertained, the thickness of the arterial wall and the diameter of its lumen to be assessed-determination of the degree of -stenosis, in patients on dialysis with an arteriovenous fistula, the function and morphology of the fistula are assessed.

Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb arteries

Ultrasound examination of the arteries of the lower limb (iliac arteries, femoral arteries, popliteal artery, tibial arteries, fibular artery)-assessment of blood flow in the arteries using the colour Doppler method- showing the blood flow in colour and spectral Doppler- imaging the flow in the form of a curve- showing the nature of the flow and its speed, allows assessment of their patency, measurement of the thickness of the vessel wall and assessment of the internal diameter and velocity of the flow allows calculation of the degree of arterial stenosis - determines the progression of atherosclerosis in the arteries of the lower limbs, in patients after surgery on the arteries, the effect of the surgery is assessed and the treatment monitored, the examination also allows detection of aneurysms in the arteries of the lower limb.
