Vascular surgery
Vascular diagnostics
At our centre, we offer comprehensive vascular diagnostic tests to detect blood flow problems early and assess vascular function. We use modern technology, including Doppler ultrasound, to accurately diagnose the condition of veins and arteries.
Doppler ultrasound of veins and arteries of upper and lower limbs
This test assesses blood flow in arteries and veins and detects the presence of blood clots, problems with valve function and vascular obstructions. It is helpful in diagnosis:

thromboembolic diseases

venous insufficiency

arterial narrowing due to atherosclerosis
For whom is the research intended?
Doppler ultrasound examinations and the ABI are designed for people who:
They feel pain, tingling or swelling of the limbs,
Have suspected thrombosis or atherosclerosis
They struggle with circulatory problems, e.g. cold feet, pain when walking
Have risk factors for vascular disease e.g. hypertension, diabetes, obesity
Doppler ultrasound of the abdominal vessels
Examination of flow in the main abdominal blood vessels, including the aorta, renal arteries, iliac arteries, and vena cavae. Allows assessment of:

renal failure associated with flow disorders

vascular narrowing due to atherosclerosis

dysfunction of the inferior vena cava
Doppler ultrasound of the small pelvic vessels
This examination includes the assessment of blood flow in the iliac veins and arteries, the parametrium and the ovarian veins. It is used in the diagnosis of, among other things:

venous stasis in the small pelvis

problems with blood supply to the reproductive organs
ABI - Ankle-Brachial Index
The ankle-arm index is a test that assesses the degree of stenosis of the lower limb arteries. It is used to detect:
Atherosclerosis
Peripheral circulatory disorders
Ischaemia of the lower limbs
When is it a good idea to come in for testing?
A vascular diagnosis is recommended when symptoms such as:

Leg pain or cramps when walking

Skin lesions such as discolouration or ulcers

Leg pain or cramps when walking

Cold extremities, especially feet
Study
Doppler ultrasound examinations are painless and non-invasive. During the examination, the specialist doctor moves the camera's head over the skin, analysing the blood flow in the vessels being examined. The results are available immediately after the examination, allowing rapid diagnosis and the initiation of treatment if necessary.
